NcFe Level 2 Creative Craft using textiles
Wednesday – 9.30-3.30

This course starts in October - there will be no classes in January 2012 and all classes will finish at the end of April 2012.
This course introduces students to creative textile techniques in a structured way leading them to develop their own personal style and an opportunity to work at projects with confidence. It is also lots of FUN!
This level covers design, colouring fabrics and threads and then using a variety of techniques including hand and machine embroidery to embellish the surfaces. Lots of samples are produced as well as a final item which is designed and made to demonstrate the varied creative textile work. Students will be expected to keep a file with all their experiments, notes and assignments. Students will be assessed by the tutor. The course is moderated internally and externally.

Course work - Projects
Each project will include design work & new techniques.
Keep all your samples / design work/ extra notes etc as you wish. (loose leaf file… or plastic A4 pages … in a sketch book or srap book etc)
It is a good idea to make sure that all your notes and samples etc are up to date. If your notes are complete at the end of each project, you will have less to do at the end of the course!
Research design work

This item can be designed / made etc based on the project work of your choice.
Bobbin Lace Class
Tuesday – 10 am-1pm

This year there will no classes in January 2012 and classes will finish at the end of April.
Everything you ever wanted to know about Bobbin Lace Making and more. This course is for total beginners and for those with experience. It is a leisure class with no qualifications to work towards.
Students can work at their own pace and on the patterns that they choose with the help of the tutor. Students attending the course may choose to learn and develop their skills in either Torchon, Bucks Point or Bedfordshire Bobbin Lace Making.
