The Lace Guild Convention at Sheffield

An enjoyable time was had by all. It was great to meet up with so many lace makers.

Jan taught a LetExist workshop on Friday afternoon. The aim of the wokshop is to encourage lace makers to 'have a go' at lace without a pricking. To help them 'free up', a dyed fabric is placed on the pillow, covered by a large sheer fabric. The sheer fabric is ruched up and lace is made in the valleys! The yarn can be anything. Here are a selection of the photographs of work in progress.

Those of you who were on the course...Don't forget to send Jan photographs of your finished work. Remember you can make your LetExist up into a panel, a book cover, a bag, a vessel or...... whatever you like.
Not all Jan's photos came out, so apologies if your LetExist is missing!

If you would like to have a go at LetExist, Jan is teaching a course at the Lace Guild Convention in Worcester. 17th-19th April 2009
There is information in the Lace Magazine 133
